Runway · Terms
Runway terms of use
The agreement between you and us when you use Runway. It is short, because the app is free, holds no money and connects to no bank — so most of what a long agreement is usually for does not arise.
Who these terms are with
Runway is provided by Otherpath Ltd, a limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17347090, registered office 3 Maple Road, Gravesend, England, DA12 5JR. “We” and “us” below mean that company; “you” means the person using the app.
Using Runway means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it — and if you have already started, deleting the app or clearing your data ends the arrangement with nothing outstanding on either side.
What Runway is
Runway is a calculator with a deadline. You give it a date, a cash target, your balances, and the money you expect to come in and go out. It projects that forward month by month and tells you where you land, how your pace compares with the pace that reaches the target, and what monthly amount or what date would reach it instead.
Every figure is arithmetic on what you typed. The quality of the answer depends entirely on the quality of the inputs, and on a future that may not behave as anyone expects.
What Runway is not
It is not financial advice. Otherpath Ltd is not a licensed financial adviser and is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Runway does not recommend investments, loans, credit products, refinancing, insurance or any other regulated financial product, and its optional AI explanation is instructed not to either. It does arithmetic on the figures you give it and tells you plainly what they imply.
A forecast is not a promise. The projections, the ranges and any estimated chance of reaching your target are estimates from your own numbers, not guarantees about your money. Decisions you take after reading them are yours. If a decision is significant, take advice from someone qualified to give it.
It is not a bank or a payment service. Runway holds no money, moves no money, and connects to no bank account. It cannot make a payment on your behalf and never asks for card or account details.
Your account and your data
You can use Runway without an account, in which case your plan stays on your device and never reaches us. If you sign in with Google, your plan is stored in your account so it appears on your other devices. What is stored, where, and who handles it is set out in full in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
The plan is yours. You can export the whole of it as a file at any time, and you can delete your data or your entire account from Settings without asking us. Keep your sign-in secure: anyone who can get into your Google account can get into your plan.
Using it properly
Do not:
- try to break into anyone else’s data, or probe the service for a way to;
- automate requests against it at a volume that degrades it for other people;
- copy, resell or rebrand the app, or take it apart to build a competing one — the software, the name and the design are ours;
- use it for anything unlawful.
Otherwise, use it as much as you like, for as many goals as you like.
Price
Runway is free. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase and no advertising, so we hold no payment details of yours and there is nothing to cancel. If that ever changes, it will be said here and on the product page before it applies to anyone, and never retrospectively.
Availability and changes
We run Runway as well as we can, but we do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of faults. It depends on services we do not control, and it can be down for maintenance.
The app will change: features get added, altered and occasionally removed. If we ever decide to stop running it altogether, we will give reasonable notice here so you can export your plan first — the export exists precisely so that your data does not depend on us continuing.
We may update these terms. The date at the top moves when we do, and a material change will be described in plain terms rather than slipped in. Continuing to use Runway after a change means you accept the new version.
Ending it
You can stop at any time by deleting your account in Settings, or simply by deleting the app. Nothing is owed either way.
We may suspend or end your access if you break the rules under Using it properly, or if we have to in order to comply with the law. Except where that would defeat the point, we will tell you why.
Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, or for a decision you take about your own money on the strength of a projection — which, as set out above, is arithmetic on figures you supplied about a future nobody can be certain of.
Because Runway is provided free of charge, it is supplied as it is, without any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose beyond doing the arithmetic it describes.
None of this limits anything that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If you are a consumer, you keep every legal right you have, and nothing on this page takes one away.
Law, courts, and getting hold of us
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
If any part of this page turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of it still stands.
